Summary of WASHINGTON POST, “Teachers, Cheating Pupils Rely on Web”, B-1, 11/27/03 Linda Perlstein grayed out section represents commentary :
Ms. Perlstein cites how Amy Malone has met with a great deal of plagiarism in her 7 years of teaching English but never has she seen the 2 students (not friends) cite the same plagiarized work. “The scourge of cheating that has frustrated university professors for years is now just as much a concern with younger students. More than half of high schoolers admitted plagiarizing from the Internet.” “The share of high school students who said they had cheated in any form over the previous year rose to 74 percent in 2002 from 61 percent in 1992.”
Folks, these students are our future employees.
